DailyClever
Guides and common questions about DailyClever.
Getting started
The word of the day
Every day a new word is waiting: what it means, where it comes from and a sentence you would genuinely use it in. Two minutes is enough.
There are no lessons, no exam and no levels. Skip a day and you lose nothing.
Setting a daily reminder
DailyClever gets in touch once a day with the new word. The time — and whether at all — is up to you in the app’s settings. One notification a day, never more.
If notifications do not arrive at all, check Settings › Notifications › DailyClever — Allow Notifications must be on. An active Focus such as Do Not Disturb will hold notifications back too.
Reading earlier words again
Every word stays in the archive. When one has slipped your mind you will find it there — while writing, that is often a better first stop than a thesaurus.
Learning
How are the words chosen?
By usefulness, not by rarity. A word only makes it in if we can picture a concrete situation where it is the best choice. Curiosities you might place once in a lifetime are left out.
I keep forgetting the words
That is normal and no cause for concern. Vocabulary does not grow by reciting a word correctly once, but by meeting it several times. That is exactly what the archive is for — looking something up twice is worth more than memorising it once.
Are there quizzes or reviews?
No. DailyClever does not test you, award points or measure a success rate.
Instead, every word so far stays available in the archive at any time. So you revisit not because the app demands it, but when you need to — while writing, while looking something up, or simply because one has slipped your mind. That is the kind of repetition that actually happens in everyday life.
Devices and purchases
Progress on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch
DailyClever syncs your progress through your own iCloud. That requires the same Apple Account on every device and an active iCloud Drive.
Subscription or one-off purchase?
We will announce pricing when the app arrives on the App Store. What is already settled: no advertising and no hidden purchases inside the app.
For managing and cancelling a subscription see the general articles — that works the same way through your Apple Account for every app.
I paid but cannot see the content
Tap Restore purchases in the app's settings and check that you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with — see Settings › your name › Media & Purchases. If that does not do it, write to us and we will sort it out.
